Michael Bosworth, traduit en justice pour avoir grièvement blessé un policier, s'évade du tribunal avec l'aide de son avocate Nancy Breyers. Il rejoint son frère et le compagnon de ce dernier et ils s'enfuient en direction du Mexique.
